"To reduce energy costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety.”
The Weatherization Assistance Program is a nationwide program to assist homeowners and tenants in improving the energy efficiency of their homes. Funding for this program comes from the State and Federal Governments and is administered by local agencies.
As the cost of fuel rises, we all need as much help as possible. Our sole purpose is energy conservation. Whether it is better insulation so that heat will not leave through the roof; whether it is low energy light bulbs, low energy showerheads or aerators; whether it is retrofitting your heater, they all represent a savings to you.
The Weatherization Assistance Program benefits the single family owner, the tenant and also the multi-dwelling owner (5+ units). The Weatherization Assistance Program known as "WAP" has been working in the city of Passaic for over 10 years. Each year we serve over 100 families. WAP serves as a resource for the community. We help families conserve energy and improve their environment.
Applications are available at our office location and even on the internet. Once an applicant is approved for the program, they are placed on a waiting list. Priority is given to the elderly, families with children, and the disabled. Commitment to our Passaic community and commitment to energy efficiency are two ideals that are the driving force behind the Weatherization Assistance Program.
